The management team at Google along with it's Android Market editorial board, which is known for its high level of standards, has chosen Lozzal to be featured in the international Android Market. With the millions of visitors the Android Market receives each month, more and more mobile users will continue to adopt Lozzal as their personal choice for "local discovery". "We are very pleased that our friends at Google have put Lozzal through its vigorous testing and approval process and has chosen it to be featured in the Android Market" says Cam Ruttle, CMO at We-Create Inc.

The Android Market was recently updated with the most recent version (ver. 3.1.1) of Lozzal. The newest offering includes features such as:

  1. Theme suggestion groups including Eat, Live, Play and Love focus areas.
  2. "Related Ideas" feature that presents thematically similar ideas, and can be used to refine the kinds of suggestions Lozzal gives as the user navigates deeper into a session.
  3. Endless expansion. Instead of 10 suggestions per user set, the user can browse laterally through hundreds of ideas with more suggestions loaded asynchronously as the user progresses farther.
  4. Version 3.1 algorithm enhancement. Continual strengthening of the underlying algorithm to allow future features to be added seamlessly.
  5. Social media sharing capabilities through SMS, Email, Facebook, Twitter and more.
  6. Integration with check-in services such as Google Places, Foursquare and Facebook Places.
  7. Enhanced directions functionality and integration with Google Maps
  8. Updated Intent framework for other Android Developers (see Lozzal's Developer Docs).

Lozzal is the world's first Local suggestion engine. It's designed to provide the user the opportunity to experience the "here and now" by providing the user "activity suggestions" they can act on now or in the future.

Lozzal™ version 2.0.4 launched with new integration features.

Waterloo, ON—May 4th, 2011

Ontario, Canada based We-Create Inc, introduces the latest version of Lozzal — the "world's first local activity suggestion engine." By targeting the "just give me some ideas" crowd of users in the location based services (LBS) arena Lozzal seeks to define a whole new niche in the space.

Lozzal combines vague cravings like "I want excitement" with an awareness of a user's environment to suggest local activities and places or businesses to visit. It's currently available throughout the USA and Canada for both the Android mobile platform and through the website Lozzal.com. Additional support for other mobile devices will arrive later this year.

"It's smart enough to avoid suggesting a trip to the beach in the rain and it knows about non-commercial hot spots like hiking trails and public spaces as well as trendy restaurants, movies and local events" says Cam Turner, CTO at We-Create Inc. "Moreover, unlike many of the other offerings in the LBS space, Lozzal goes to great lengths to involve multiple destinations that create comprehensive ideas like getting dinner before a movie, or ice cream after playing in the park."

It's this patent-pending, multi-destination suggestion technology that helped Lozzal to a very respectable showing at the 2011 CTIA conference in Florida this past March. The technology earned the honor of runner-up in the Microsoft Developer FastPitch contest and had a top-five placement in AT&T's 2011 Open Call contest.

"The buzz with carriers and device manufacturers since CTIA has been astounding," says Cam Ruttle, Chief Marketing Officer at We-Create. "We quietly released Lozzal in the US in February [2011] following our agreement with CityGrid Media, but CTIA has really accelerated us to the next level."

The company is now seeking integration partnerships with other LBS-based applications. With guidance directly from the Google Android team, the current Android App (version 2.0.4) implements a wide range of "intents" that let other Android apps leverage the suggestion technology. You can learn more about integration options at http://developer.lozzal.com.

As the contest runner up, Lozzal developers will be given the opportunity to work closely with the Windows Phone 7 Platform team to enhance its performance and build visibility for the service. "We are excited to have had Lozzal recognized by such a prestigious company" says Cam Ruttle, Chief Marketing Officer at We-Create Inc.

Lozzal, the World's first local "suggestion engine", also did well in the AT&T Open Call App contest at CTIA by placing in the top 5.

WATERLOO, ONTARIO—(Marketwire - Sept. 14, 2010)

The team at We-Create is excited to bring Lozzal to the Canadian marketplace. Lozzal is a new and innovative service that allows the user to receive activity "suggestions" based on his/her location. Lozzal combines vague cravings like "I want excitement" with an awareness of a user's environment to suggest local activities and places or businesses to visit.

We-Create has integrated the gold standard in Canadian business listings as part of our Lozzal service through our new agreement with the Yellow Pages Group. "YPG is Canada's leading local commercial search provider and Lozzal is the perfect compliment for people wanting to try something new and simply need a few novel ideas to kick start their day" says Alan McNamara, COO at We-Create Inc.

One of the things that sets Lozzal apart from proximity-based "nearby" services and local business search offerings is that Lozzal acts as a knowledgeable friend with all the info. Lozzal won't suggest ideas based just on proximity since it also takes into account popularity, trends, weather and even the time of day. "It's smart enough to avoid suggesting a trip to the beach in the winter or taking your kids to the park after dark and it knows about non-commercial hot spots like hiking trails and public spaces as well as restaurants, movies and local events" says Cam Turner, CTO at We-Create Inc.
