Five Important Modern Manufacturing Website Design Features

When our team conducts our preliminary research and project kickoff calls, clients will find that we emphasize five areas that are critical to offering a modern manufacturing website design. Our experience working with various manufacturing companies has allowed us to selectively tailor our approach to highlight the services, technologies, and expertise that set our customers apart from the competition.

Strong “Above The Fold”

The “Above The Fold” section is the topmost portion of any website design and is the first thing potential customers see when visiting the website. You’ll see in the below examples the emphasis we place on creating a strong Above The Fold section that highlights the specific services or products provided by our customers. This section provides immediate feedback to visitors that they’ve found the optimal provider for the services they seek and makes navigating to those internal pages straightforward.

Clear Calls-to-Action (CTA)

All of our modern manufacturing website designs emphasize strong calls to action (CTA) throughout the site. Providing website visitors with plentiful options to learn more about unique services, specific equipment, and ways to contact the business is crucial to increasing page views and time spent on the website. Calls to action are essential to boosting the sales funnel and creating a more personalized experience for visitors that ultimately leads to more quote requests and closed sales.

Simplified Navigation

Every manufacturing website design project completed by weCreate starts with a detailed wireframe that clearly outlines how future visitors will experience and navigate the site. With a strong above-the-fold section, well-organized dropdowns, and internal linking we guarantee that anyone visiting your website will be able to find the information they are looking for and that it leads to more inquiries and sales.

Targeted Keywords

As an SEO-focused marketing agency, weCreate incorporates researched keywords into every single page of a modern manufacturing website design. This can include high-competition keywords, location-based tactics, and creative blog topics that help improve position and exposure to targeted audiences. SEO is more than just using specific keywords in the right places, it involves an exhaustive combination of continued content writing, analyzing key metrics, and progressive re-optimization of content to further refine keywords that align with what customers are searching for.

Professional Imagery

Imagery is one of the most crucial aspects of any successful modern manufacturing website design. Throughout the design and development process, our creative team will identify key locations for professional imagery throughout the design and note the specific photos needed to elevate the website. These can range from photos of new equipment to detailed process examples and showcasing final product quality.

How Much Does a Modern Manufacturing Website Design Cost?

In our work with manufacturing companies, we’ve been able to compartmentalize our website development process into three different levels of involvement with distinct cost levels. Ultimately, the eventual cost of developing a new website for a manufacturing company depends on several factors including the number of pages, potential logo redesign, custom page designs, and whether or not the site requires simplified or advanced e-commerce capabilities. ErieBronze

The manufacturing website design for ErieBronze provided an opportunity to work with a color palette (red, gold, and black) that emphasized their service offerings and drew attention to important content sections throughout the site. Much like Custom Engineering and several other designs, you’ll notice the strong Above The Fold section that immediately calls attention to the four core services of ErieBronze and quickly informs visitors that they’ve found the perfect bronze and aluminum manufacturer for their needs.

Advanced Finishing USA

Rather than use images or designated shapes to contain the Above the Fold service offerings for Advanced Finishing USA, our design team chose to link the five distinct powder coating and finishing services on the right-hand side of the homepage. Directly above the links to available services is a looping high-quality video showcasing automated powder coating equipment at Advanced Finishing, providing a modernized touch to a refined design. Our work with this client has helped support their claim as the top powder coating service provider in PA and continues to drive traffic, quote requests, and sales.

safeUV

safeUV is a manufacturer of 222nm UV Lamps that actively disinfect occupied spaces. As a relatively new advancement in sanitization technology, they desired a website that matched their unique product offering. This modern manufacturing website design utilizes background imagery, rather than solid color blocks, rounded buttons, and a distinct above-the-fold section that highlights the intended applications of their products. For this site, the customer requested weCreate include several CTA locations on each page to drive inquiries and quote requests. The homepage reflects this with three separate CTAs at the top right, directing potential customers to their desired page without requiring additional navigation.

PFI

Once again, for PFI, we used a blue-centric color scheme to evoke feelings of confidence and trust from molding industry customers looking for superior plating services. As plating is a highly competitive industry, we focused our design for this site on clearly indicating the available coatings and not grouping them underneath a secondary page. The vast majority of customers seeking services from PFI have a clear understanding of the coating they want, be it Dura Slick or Nickel Boron Nitride, and these are all specifically mentioned as soon as customers visit the homepage. The rest of the website pages incorporate alternating blocks of content and imagery to balance the webpage and boost mobile friendliness.

KML Industrial Supply

KML Industrial Supply was a unique challenge for weCreate to develop a modern manufacturing website design that showcased their expansive catalog of products. Anyone visiting the website can quickly navigate to ten or more distinct categories of products without needing to search through additional pages. Furthermore, KML Industrial Supply is an authorized distributor of several brands and wanted to highlight this to customers immediately upon their arrival at the site. This manufacturing website design is a go-to option for companies with expansive product offerings and unique categorization options.

AvinED

The AvidED website features one of the most visually appealing above-the-fold sections in any website we’ve developed and highlights its strengths in a color-coordinated design. Each product grouping also incorporates crucial SEO keywords like ADA-compliant, customizable, and adjustable to separate their products from the competition during the initial search phase. The entire website combines professional photography with applicable specs into a singular image to highlight the crucial details of their top-performing products to customers. This manufacturing website design also showcases customer reviews, has a live chat plug-in feature, and distinct CTAs throughout the page layout.

Precision Steel Services

This manufacturing website design presented a unique opportunity to develop specific visual features that represent the sharp angle cuts and aluminum extrusion work performed by Precision Steel Services. Using the black, red, and white color palette, our design team created angular buttons and CTAs throughout the site to evoke the modernized approach and advanced equipment used by Precision Steel. Further navigation through the website shows SEO-focused content blocks balanced by professional imagery and supported with detailed FAQ sections for each service offering. Although only recently launched, this streamlined site is already providing meaningful jumps in traffic, page views, and average visit length of potential customers.

Polymer Molding

One specific challenge faced in creating the manufacturing website for Polymer Molding was how to showcase a considerable amount of products at the top of the homepage. Thankfully, Polymer Molding was able to provide considerable imagery showing a collection of products in different configurations that we were able to use in the bubbles above the specific service or product categories. The colorful nature of these photos continues throughout the website design and creates an inviting atmosphere that highlights their flexibility in both product design and color. The homepage also features a clear H1 with strong keyword usage and two immediate CTA buttons for customers to quickly contact Polymer Molding for a quote or more information.

Onanon

Onanon is a leading global manufacturer of application-specific connectors and cables and wanted a website design that offered simplistic navigation through multiple different products on a singular page. To accomplish this, weCreate developed a rotating product feed that changes images for customers to view without needing to navigate to additional pages. Naturally, these products are supported with additional SEO content on internal pages, but the simple product feed design offers immediate visibility to a dozen products immediately. The white background with limited use of blue once again emphasizes modernity and makes the text easy to read and digest.

Kalman Manufacturing

CNC prototype machining is a highly specialized field that emphasizes robust technical knowledge of niche industries, modernized equipment, and expedited turnaround times. For Kalman Manufacturing, their website design needed to reflect their capabilities through detailed content sections and professional photography of finished products. First, our website design used welcoming images of dogs and a softer font to reflect their more consumer-ready product line and move away from the more rigid designs seen in other manufacturing industries. The homepage displays bullet points that support their viability in the market and why more dog owners are sourcing responsible dog chews that promote dental hygiene.

DC Electronics

DC Electronics manufactures cable assemblies and harnesses and features a strong interactive above-the-fold section of five main product categories. As a potential customer navigates over the applicable product category, the image changes to a drop-down design with more specifications and information for those specific products. This dynamic design feature adds a modernized touch to the design while providing a convenient option for displaying additional product information without needing to navigate to a supplemental page. DC Electronics also requested a strong “Industries Served” page that spoke to their experience working with customers in unique fields and displaying their certifications or accreditations that correspond to each sector.

Allegheny Wood Works

Allegheny Wood Works specializes in manufacturing solid hardwood doors and desired a manufacturing website design that simplified navigation through their several distinct product categories and types. Website visitors looking for doors can hover their mouse over the requisite header link and view the entire menu of available products, options, and additional informational resource pages on the site. By simplifying the internal website structure, Allegheny Wood Works is experiencing higher levels of website traffic and RFQs as customers can quickly navigate to the desired products. You’ll also notice that the color scheme is muted hues of brown, mimicking their product line with easy text readability and CTA buttons that pop against the plain background.

Service Tool & Die

The Service Tool & Die site incorporates all the primary features of a modern manufacturing website design and is a great example to follow for a multitude of different industries. The homepage layout is clean and uncluttered, with a clear H1, mention of ISO certification, two separate CTA buttons, and six distinct bubble icons encapsulating their main services. Anyone arriving at this page will understand immediately if Service Tool & Die can serve their needs, further navigation through the site will only support this claim. This is a no-frills design that communicates directly to the customer with informative content sections and professional photography.
