About Us
Our Story
It was a summer day in August 2012. Erie, PA was alive with celebrations, beer fests, and food trucks as if the town was trying to squeeze in as much excitement before the inevitable lake effect snow came to change the landscape and the forms of entertainment. The smell of industry wafted over the lake, the city, and the happy north-easterners enjoying summer. One of these Pennsylvanians was setting up a tent at the annual Erie Rib Fest in the hopes that he might attract some attention to his fledgling web business. He had recently made a cross-country trek from San Diego where he had formerly finished his tour of duty in the United States Marine Corps infantry, and then obtained a Master’s Degree in International Business and Marketing. Beyond starting a few online e-commerce businesses, he had little experience in selling website design as a service or selling in general, but he knew how to market and was ready for the challenge.
Nate Wheeler
Nate Wheeler – owner of weCreate LLC built the company with two partners over the next 7 years, working several jobs in the early years until the business grew and became his only occupation. From the beginning, weCreate’s vision was to set a higher standard of web design. We wanted to bring new innovation to the space, and offer companies attractive custom websites that not only looked fantastic, but that fulfilled a vital marketing need. We looked around the space and saw that there were plenty of do-it-yourself options, and plenty of high budget options, but no-one we saw was filling the space of creating custom branded designs, with marketing best practices for the average business. Over the years we added to our team and grew our capabilities, always with the mindset of best practices that start with a team that has an in-depth understanding of web design, hosting, marketing & SEO.
Evolution into the Manufacturing/B2B Space
Erie, PA is a town with a significant manufacturing presence, and as a result, inevitably some of our first customers were manufacturers. With an educational background that started with mechanical engineering at Penn State, Nate related to the manufacturing space and found it fascinating to see the methods and types of products that were made in our town. As an SEO expert, Nate was able to help some of our early customers in a significant way, at times, helping them save their business from a slow decline and bankruptcy, and other times, helping successful companies become dramatically more profitable. The excitement in helping the foundation element of our economy – manufacturers – achieve higher levels of success started our journey into a primary focus of manufacturing website design and marketing as a service. Just so you’re aware: While the majority of our customers are in manufacturing, we do awesome work for many industries!
What’s New at weCreate
Our influence in the marketplace has grown to the point where we are solution finders and thought leaders in the arena of manufacturing lead generation. Our team has grown to a team developers, designers, and marketers who have a passion for helping businesses thrive and show their best selves online. We’ve expanded globally, with customers throughout the world, and in nearly every state in the U.S. You’ll see our content often when researching various manufacturing related topics on the web, and you’ll always learn something new that can help your business grow. Just check out our blog for some of these resources.
We’ve also branched out by building an online marketplace called the Tri-state Manufacturers Marketplace. We saw this site as a natural extension of our business, but instead of just helping one manufacturer, we could help a group of them at the same time as helping grow the economy in our region.
weCreate Ownership
weCreate, LLC is now under the sole ownership of Nate Wheeler, who spends his time optimizing the performance of the weCreate team, writing, and speaking to audiences on marketing related topics. Some of his recent engagements were provided for the U.S. Trade Commission, MNI University, and APEX Accelerator. Nate is currently interested in opportunities to provide consultation for corporate marketing teams and other organizations that want to learn more about marketing, SEO, manufacturing lead generation, and economic development. Nate still speaks with every customer, learns about their businesses, and shares insight with the weCreate team on how to best present their offerings.
